Our Classes

Have you ever wondered why our classes have unusual names? Well, here at Byron we do all we can to promote reading. Each class has the honour of being named after a famous author. These authors have written one of the books on each of the year group book lists.

The children have found out more about their author and made sure they have read their class book.

Support your child by encouraging them to read the other books on their year group book list and other ones by their author.

Mrs Kim Hopkins - Class Teacher

Mrs Lyndsay Goldsmith - Nursery Nurse

This class has been named after Janet and Allan Ahlberg, who both wrote and illustrated many children's books.

Amongst these are: "Each Peach Pear Plum", which is on our book list, "Funny Bones" and "The Jolly Postman".

How many can you enjoy with your children?

Mrs Kirran Khan - Class Teacher

Mrs Rebecca Magee - Nursery Nurse

Our class is named after Julia Donaldson, who is an English writer, playwright and performer.

She is well known for her popular rhyming stories for children.

One of her best known books is "Room On The Broom", which is on the Reception book list.

Make sure you read it, you will love it!

Rosen Class has been named after the famous author and poet, Michael Rosen.
