Absence in Term Time
Authorised leave of absence will only be granted in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Headteacher. Parents considering visits abroad should in the first instance talk to our Home School Liaison Officer. She will give you a Holiday Absence Form to complete, which will then need to be signed by the Headteacher.
Each request will be considered individually taking into account circumstances such as the nature of the event for which leave is sought, the frequency of the request, whether the parent gave advance notice; and the pupil’s attainment, attendance and ability to catch up on missed schooling.
The Governing Body have introduced penalty notice fines of £60, per parent, per child, where children are taken out of school when authorisation has not been granted or sought.
