Educational visits and enhancements

At Byron Primary School we believe that educational visits play an important part in the overall development of the child. These allow them the opportunity to participate in, and benefit from, a range of activities and experiences that serve to extend and consolidate their learning, as well as develop their personal, spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) awareness and understanding.

We aim to provide children with experience of a rich variety of environments which contribute to making learning enjoyable and enabling the children to visit places they might not otherwise see and undertake activities in which they might not otherwise participate.

Recent educational visits have included:
Year 5 pupils visiting Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre to explore the wonders of the world.

Year 4 pupils have taken part in a CSI day at Byron, where there was a murder that needed solving.

Key Stage 1 children were visited by paleontologist Steve who brought lots of dinosaur fossils into school for us to look at and make.  The children also visited DinoStar museum in Hull.

In recognition of the importance of these educational visits School heavily subsidises all out of school trips to ensure the cost to parents is kept to a reasonable amount.
